In KwaMduku, a quiet rural village, many children walk up to five kilometres every morning just to get to school. Some wear torn uniforms. Others come hungry. But inside the classrooms of Ekuseni Primary School, there is something powerful — hope.

Thanks to the support of the Lööf Foundation, our partner Star for Life can be there for these children — not only with education, but with care, love, and support.

Children take part in fun and helpful sessions where they learn about important life topics: how to stay safe, how to deal with emotions, and how to make good choices. We talk about hygiene, dreams, abuse, and how to cope when there are problems at home. Every child deserves to be heard and to feel safe.

One story that touched us deeply was about two brothers in Grade 6. They were new at the school, quiet, and wearing second-hand uniforms. With your help, they received new clothes, food parcels, and extra learning support. It brought back their confidence — and their smiles.

This work is not only about school. It’s about helping children believe in themselves and showing them that their lives matter — even when life is hard.

With boys’ and girls’ talks, mobile health clinics, hygiene packs, and the help of caring coaches, the children at Ekuseni are growing stronger — in mind, body, and spirit.

Together, we are making a difference.
