Visiting Missionaries of Charity Mother Teresa Ashram
This week we had the great possibility to visit the Missionaries of Charity Mother Teresa Ashram which was founded in 1981 by Mother Teresa in Agra, India. They take care of 210 disabled adults and 45 children with special needs. It is run by 9 sisters and 20 members of staff. We supported with clothes and toys for the children and in this picture you can see Tracy who is a seventeen year girl with severe special needs. When she was born, her mom did not want her and left her at the hospital. Thankfully Mother Teresa’s Ashram picked her up from the hospital and they have given her the best care and love for her ever since. It was very special meeting Tracy, we had an instant connection and she was very happy receiving a Lööf Foundation teddy bear. The sisters and the members of the staff that takes care of these disabled people are my true heroes.
