LÖÖF FOUNDATION’S FOUNDER ATTENDS PROJECT PLAYGROUND’S CHARITY DINNER
Yesterday Sophie Lööf, our Founder and Chairman, had the opportunity to attend Project Playground’s charity dinner at Hotel Skeppsholmen in Stockholm! The organization started in 2010 by H.R.H Princess Sofia and Frida Vesterberg. Their work focuses on reducing the exclusion of children and young people, and they operate with their support in Langa and Gugulethu outside Cape Town in South Africa and in Hallonbergen outside Stockholm, Sweden. In connection with the refugee wave that came to Sweden 2015, their idea has been to use their knowledge and experience they gotten through their work in Africa and apply them in Sweden.
The organization has created a movement to activate and engage children and young people who has come to Sweden as unaccompanied refugee children. In 2016, Project Playground gained access to its own premises in Hallonbergen outside of Stockholm and where they now give around 150 youngsters support and the activity they need. No matter what background the youth come from, they are all welcome in Project Playground’s activities.
Last night, Lööf Foundation felt happy to donate a unique summer experience to some of Project Playground’s needy youngsters from Hallonbergen. A summer holiday in Gran Canaria, together we will go the pool, swim in the ocean, go on an outing to the Palmitos Park Zoo and many other fun things together! We wanted to do our part in helping to make these youth to feel included, seen and special!
